Volleyball Camp 2018


Saint Mary’s University Volleyball Camp is an experience for girls who want intense work in a competitive atmosphere, as well as basic mastery of individual skills. About 75 percent of the camp will focus on individual skills, and 25 percent on team play. Personal evaluations will be given at the completion of camp.

Team Camp

July 22-25, 2018
Grades 9 – 12 (Fall 2018)

Residential – $350
Commuter – $310

Registration/Check-in: Sunday, July 22
Final Games: Wednesday morning; parents and team coaches are welcome
Final Day/Check-out: Following the final games

If you do not have a team to attend team camp with, we will add individuals to a team court.

High School Coaches: You are welcome to attend through the week to observe the camp and talk with camp coaches on what your goal for the season will be… etc.

Meal information: Dinner on Sunday through breakfast on Wednesday will be provided for residential campers. Dinner on Sunday through Wednesday and lunch on Monday through Wednesday will be provided for commuters.

Individual Skills Camp

July 26-28, 2018
(grades 7-12, fall 2018)

Residential – $300
Commuter – $225

Final Games: Saturday morning; parents are welcome
Final Day/Check-out: Following the final games

Meal information: Dinner on Thursday through breakfast on Saturday will be provided for residential campers. Dinner on Wednesday through Saturday and lunch on Thursday through Saturday will be provided for commuters.

Residence Hall Guidelines

Camp Store

The camp store will be open in the residence hall each evening for snacks and refreshments. Campers will be able to get a snack after their evening game or while watching the evening film in the residence hall lounge. We will provide banking services so that you will need to carry only a small amount of cash with you. Campers will be issued a punch card for requested denominations. All purchases and charges will be assessed against a campers account upon request. Remaining balance will be refunded at check-out.

Past Saint Mary’s University volleyball uniforms may be available for purchase. All campers will recieve a camp t-shirt at check-out.

Meet the Coaching Staff

Saint Mary’s University Cardinals head volleyball coach Mike Lester and members of his staff will instruct each day at the camp. The remainder of the staff will be made up of USA National Development Staff coaches and other collegiate coaches. Members of the Saint Mary’s Women’s Volleyball team will also assist with coaching and serve as camp counselors.

Gostomski Fieldhouse

Campers will have daily access to our 78,000 square foot Recreational and Athletic Complex (RAC), Gostomski Field House. The center includes a natatorium with an eight-lane, 25-year pool and diving well, along with; an air-conditioned 45,000 square-foot multi-purpose arena which houses a 200 meter track, four multi-purpose courts, fully equipped weight room, aerobics/dance room and more. Synthetic flooring and net systems allow multiple activities to take place for recreation, sports practice and education.

Jul Gernes Pool

The Jul Gernes Pool is a competitive eight-lane pool with spectator areas for viewing men’s and women’s swimming competitions.

Saint Mary’s University Ice Arena

The Saint Mary’s Ice Arena features a near-Olympic-sized rink with new dasher boards and plexiglass. The arena boasts the reputation of having the best ice in western college hockey.

The Cardinals home gym features three regulation sized basketball courts as well as six glass backboards.

Challenge Ropes Course

The Challenge Ropes Course provides a unique and fun environment for experiential and adventure-based education. Diverse populations can participate in activities designed to build self-confidence and teamwork, as well as develop an understanding of the complexities of human nature through the use of a wide variety of elements & initiative.
